Dr. Dave (Dae-Wook) Kim received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Design from Sungkyunkwan University in Korea, and completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle in 2002. He teaches materials and manufacturing related courses at WSU Vancouver. His current research efforts have included manufacturing process development of hybrid composites and nanocomposites, fatigue enhancement of automotive/aerospace structures, and mechanical property improvement of marine composite structures.  More than 80 technical publications have been authored or co-authored by Dr. Kim in these areas. Dr. Kim has been very active serving in professional communities. He is a past char of the Manufacturing Division at American Society of Engineering Education and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Portland Chapter. Away from the office, Dave enjoys running, traveling, and watching sports. He is married with two happy children.
