Dr. Xu received his Bachelor degree in thermal engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing with distinction. He received both Master degree and PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University in the City of New York. Dr. Xu has authored more than 40 journal and conference publications, including several best paper/poster award winning publications. Dr. Xu has been recognized by the 2011 DARPA Young Faculty Award, 2011 National New Faces of Engineering Program and 2009 Chinese Government Award. Dr. Xu is an active member of several professional communities and has been serving for a number of journals and conferences as reviewers and organizers. Supported by DARPA, amazon.com and Sigma Xi, Dr. Xu's lab aims at understanding micro interfacial sciences and building novel micro/nanofluidic systems for energy, health and environment.
