Research

Laurie A. Drapela is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Washington State University Vancouver.  Her research interests include probation officer discretion, the sociological impacts of prison siting, the implementation and operation of therapeutic courts, and offending desistance trajectories among youth.  Her most recent research focuses on the social and institutional aspects of working with youth on the autism spectrum.  Her manuscripts have appeared in Crime & Delinquency, The Journal of Youth and Adolescence, Deviant Behavior, Youth & Society, and The Social Science Journal.
